Appliance delivery

We provide a 2 man delivery service to a ground floor that has clear & suitable access through to where the product needs to be placed.

We generally prefer to transport items fully packaged in to the room you require, so please allow for additional width of packaging. Some very large range cookers are transported on a wooden pallet base to protect the chassis from twisting, if you require the goods to be removed from this additional protective packaging you will be required to sign a damage disclamer by our delivery team

If you have any other circumstances ie steps, stairs, narrow coridoors with turnings etc you must contact us to discuss delivery before ordering

PLEASE PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO YOUR ACCESS BEFORE ORDERING A LARGE APPLIANCE. Please notify us of stairs, steps, parking restrictions etc.

You can contact us by phone or email to discuss particulars, wherever possible please take photos of steps or stairways and email them to us for pre delivery confirmation that we will be able to site your appliance where you would like it left.

Our delivery team work within health and safety and manual handling regulations and if there are obstructions and they are not able to take your appliance in to the room of your choice you will receive a doorstep delivery.

Delivery when ordering via our website

  • Estimated Delivery will show the cheapest delivery method available for your chosen product. You will be able to choose from all available delivery methods at checkout.
  • Goods are delivered subject to availability.
  • If a particular delivery date/time is critical please call us before placing your order, that way we will be able to give you an accurate estimate on delivery. Please call us on 01435 868586

Who delivers your appliance(s)?

  • All deliveries in our local area will be carried out by our own delivery team
  • With all local deliveries we will confirm by telephone your delivery date & time.
  • Our nationwide deliveries are carried out by a specialist appliance delivery team. This is a two man delivery team into your home.
  • With all nationwide deliveries you will be called directly by the delivery team to arrange a suitable delivery date and time window.

Removing your old appliance

If we are collecting an old appliance to be recycled, please make sure that it is uninstalled* and ready to be collected. With items larger than a washing machine, we are not insured to remove it through your home. For us to be able to take these away, please ensure it is outside and ready to take away.

*If an appliance is still installed at time of collection, we may not be able to collect.

We will always do our best to fit the delivery around you, however, while we can specify a delivery date, morning or afternoon, we cannot always specify an exact time.

 

Purchasing more than 3 large appliances?

If you are purchasing more than 3 large appliances, the checkout basket may display a high delivery charge. If this is the case please phone us on 01435 868586 or email support@kensingtonappliances.co.uk for a possible discount.

We dispatch deliveries of small appliances using a good quality courier. These particular items that we hold in stock can be delivered in 48 hours (2 working days) and it is important to only sign for items which are received in good condition.

Not in when we deliver at your arranged time

 You may be subject to additional delivery charges if you are not available when delivery is attempted. You will also be subject to a re-stocking fee if you wish to send back an item which is not faulty. This re-stocking fee can vary with different manufacturers.

Signing for items at time of delivery

It is extremely important to check all items for damage before signing to accept them. If your delivery is carried out by courier we will not be able to accept any claims for damaged items if you have signed the delivery paperwork.

Please take the following steps:

  1. Take the item out of its packaging (do not just look at the packaging!)
  2. Inspect goods carefully (all the sides, corners and doors –if applicable)
  3. If there is no damage , accept and sign
  4. If there is damage do not accept or sign (It is OK to sign under “Delivery refused as item damaged”)

We cannot alter courier’s rules and once goods are signed for we cannot accept any claims for damages. Signing goods as "unchecked" makes no difference; you really do have to check them properly.

Please make sure that anyone who might accept a delivery for you understands this, especially if they are teenage children, who in our experience tend not to listen too well!
